The United States consumes more wedding party gifts than any other country. And with all the troubles our planet is confronting right now with pollution and the depletion of our ozone layer, we should help save bridesmaid gifts, which in turn will help our world.

We are going to talk about a couple of things that each of us can do to save groomsmen gifts and save money in the process. These are extremely easy things that we all can do, you only need to make the choice to do them in order to help our environment and ourselves.

A simple thing you can do is to just turn off the lights when you go out a room. Many of us probably temporarily leave the living room lights turned on when we go to the kitchen to prepare some food because we believe we are returning soon. If you do this even for only twice a day, that is approximately 30 minutes of squandered power for just this one light. Even if 30 minutes doesn't appear like much, keep in mind that millions upon millions of people do this daily. If you total it all up, one person could be wasting at least 182 hours of wedding party gifts yearly. Let's suppose that we actually leave the lights switched on for roughly 182 hours every single year and let's multiply that by one million people. That's 182 million hours of groomsmen gifts squandered each year coming from a light that is left switched on in a single room.

Another thing that is causing waste is the habit we have of entering a room and turning the lights on. This has become second nature to a lot of people. I find myself doing the exact same thing as well. The trouble is that many times, there is sufficient light coming into a room. And yet, we walk into a reasonably lit room and flip the light switch to on. And on top of that, because of the natural light coming in, we have the tendency to forget we flipped the room light on in the first place and leave it on for the rest of the day. You just have to make the extra effort to not flip the lights on if there is enough natural light coming in.

People who leave their TVs and radios on the entire day, when they are not even in the same room is one of the biggest problems. When I visit my mother, I have to remind her to switch the television off since she would leave it running even though she's not watching. This is a huge waste of wedding party gifts. If you are not going to be in the room any longer and the telly is flipped on, flip it off.

These are just a couple of very easy hints that can go a long way to avoid wasting bridesmaid gifts and help save the environment. It doesn't take a great deal to do what we explained but if everyone does it, no matter how little it may seem, it will have a great positive outcome.
